Mary Fengar Gail Biography

Mary Fengar Gail's plays include Planet Of The Mutagens, Lord Velvet, Jambulu, and Dominion Of The Gods. She has had workshops and productions at various theatres including the New York Stage and Film Company (at the Powerhouse Theatre of Vassar), the Next Stage Theatre of Boston, The Necessary Theatre of Louisville, the Attic Theatre of Los Angeles the NewGate Theatre of Providence, and The Lark Theatre of New York. Ms. Gail has had three plays selected for development at The Sundance Institute Playwrights Lab, and Fuchsia, was selected to participate in the Screenwriters Seminar at the Eugene O'Neill National Playwrights Conference. Ms. Gail has served as artist-in-residence at the North Carolina School of the Arts, and is a recipient of the Arnold Weissberger Award administered by New Dramatists, the Stanley Drama Award sponsored by Wagner College, the International Playwriting Competition sponsored by the Center Theatre Ensemble of Chicago, and her children's musical, Phoebe's Closet, was the winner of the National Children's Theatre Festival Award.
