John F. Finney has worked as a musician (currently performing with the music group The New Blood Revival), producer, and studio and live sound engineer for numerous national touring musical acts as well as many theatrical productions. He has toured with Merle Haggard, Tony!Toni!Tone! as well as Dizzy Gillespie, Wynton Marsalis, and En Vogue. Mr. Finney has also worked with such musical acts as Janis Ian, The Pogues, Bobby Blue Bland, Yolanda Adams, Wayne Newton, The Band, Hootie and the Blowfish, Don Rickles, Regis Philbin, the O’Jays, and many others as sound engineer. He has worked as a systems analyst/engineer for large music festivals such as the Philadelphia Folk Festival, the Marlboro Music Fests, and others. Mr. Finney has worked at NJPAC as a member of the audio department, as well as for Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, The Count Basie Theater (Red Bank), and the State Theater in New Brunswick. He has also produced records and has engineered many albums of varied styles. At George Street Playhouse, Mr. Finney most recently worked on the hit play Dirty Blonde, where he adapted Eileen Tague’s sound design.
