Winner of the 1984 Pulitzer Prize, David Mamet's savage comedy revolves around a group of small-time real estate salesmen competing with one another for their fair share of the American dream. The object of the men's game is closing deals on worthless plots of land, where the actual value of what's for sale has little to do with the art of selling. Nowhere does Mamet's language soar with the bruatal power and wit of a world in which survival of the fittest can mean either winning the office Cadillac or losing everything you have.
